What is CBD and will it get me high?
CBD (cannabidiol) is a naturally occurring compound found in the leaves and flowers of the hemp and marijuana plants. THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) is the compound responsible for the psychological effects experienced when using marijuana. Derived from hemp, CBD does not produce any psychoactive effects and will not produce a ‘high’. Many people claim CBD helps them with a range of conditions, including anxiety, back pain and insomnia.
How do I know that the CBD I'm taking is safe?
Although CBD products are legal in the UK, they are subject to strict restrictions over their THC content. CBD products that haven’t been prescribed medicinally can only have a maximum THC content of 0.2%. Products with a higher THC content may be available online, leading some people to unknowingly purchase an illegal product. This is where third-party lab testing comes in.
